wren_kt7ozI was re-watching 314 last night, and started thinking about the dates given in the ad
Jason Kemp murdered in April 02
In May 02 - Reikhert resigns from the force.
"A year later" (i.e. May 03) Reikhert commits suicide. And this is the eppy where Mel is in her 11th week.
So here's how it looks to me.
- Mel gets pregnant somewhere around 1st week in March 03 (11 weeks before Reikhert's suicide).
- Deb hosts the Vic deGrassi Christmas special in Feb 04 (we know that, Em tells us it's Feb).
- After that, Brian's story arc takes us to at least another 7 - 9 weeks which means it's now at least end of March, so Mel has been pregnant for at least 55 weeks and quite possibly for 60 weeks or longer
And they wonder why I believe this child to be demon spawn! LOLOL
Not to mention that why I have such a low opinion of C/L's ability to keep any sense of continuity in what they do.

after Gus's birthday, which seems to be in September 2001 (201) and Pride
(204), which is in the fall for some reason. AFTER Jason Kemp is murdered
then it becomes winter (snow on the ground, etc.) and seems to remain
winter for the rest of the season.

You're right about the Ted thing, although I guess that would track with Mel's pregnancy at least. If she was at the end of her first trimester when he went into rehab, then 6 months later she should be ready to pop.
The real problem comes with Justin's birthdays.
Because Justin turned 19 after Jason's murder ... and his birthday is Feb/March ... (same day as Ben and Ben's a Pisces). We know he turned 18 in 2001, so if Jason was murdered in April 2002, and Justin's 19th birthday isn't till after that, then apparently he just skipped his birthday completely in 2002.
Even if we forget that anomaly, then we have to assume that he crammed his 20th birthday into the time between 311(?) where he tells the cop he's 19, and the "one year later" anniversary of Jason's death in April 03 - without anyone so much as mentioning the fact that he's no longer a teenager. (Although maybe it explains the smugness with which he comes out with the "teenagers ... " line in the hustler bar. LOL)

Hope you don't mind me visiting? I don't comment much around the fandom even if I read a lot. It's hard work for me this commenting. Takes time and effort to get my thoughts over the language rift. So I tend to be a lurker.
I haven't been able to watch the show since the second season, but even then I noticed there being a very unique kind of time continuum used. I don't remember anymore what made me think so, but I remember there was something weird.
It's a bit boring at the moment up here near the north pole. I'm on vacation, it's raining, I'm sitting in a corner of a room typing and that man that demands me to wash his shirts is out with his best friend, a dude called Mika which is a Michael equivalent in Finnish. How ridiculous is that?
There is more. My dearest has never in our 17 years together said he loves me. I know it though, he shows it in oh so many ways everyday, okay every other day. He has serious difficulties in showing his feelings. He has been abused - mentally - by his father all his life up to this day. He's tall, about 6,1. He has hazel eyes. BUT he is not beautiful nor too sexy and his hairline is receding seriously. AND he's not 12 years my senior. LOL
BTW, nice choice of music you had writing the post! Had to listen the album myself.

For myself, I had a friend who was as close to me as anyone's ever been. He was gay, but still like the other half of my soul. And his name was Michael. I think it's probably one of the reasons that I resent Mikey so much. He has my friend's name. And even looks a bit like him - well, Michael was smallish with dark hair - blue eyes, though. But such a difference! Maybe it's the contrast that gets me.
As for the music - I love Queen, but only had the stuff on vinyl. I got the first two albums on cd recently and I've been playing them a lot.

Date: 4/7/04 10:45 am (UTC)My resentment for Michael has nothing to do with RL Mika. First I think HS is a lousy actor and doesn't give Michael a chance to be a decent character. The second thing was his reaction to Brian coming a father in 101. So he never had any chance with me. LOL
(I wrote a fic in which I let out what I think about Michael - among other things. It's called Trick or truth, in case you're interested and have time.)
Re Queen in vinyl. I've got every album on vinyl, including 'Made in heaven'. Because all the albums my sister and I had as teens went with her as she moved out I had to go through some thousands of secondhand shops to get them. And I have every one of the albums on CD. Too. And then some special stuff... YES. A freak here! =D
