Gus drabble
19 Jul 2007 04:01 pmThis is a little snippet that has come out of my current struggles with Reverberations. (I'm working on the "leaving for Canada" stuff, and it's giving me much grief - both literally and figuratively - I want to weep for Brian every time I think about it.)
Anyway, here's a little snippet that could even be regarded as a sneak preview of an upcoming Homecoming chapter.
Gus Drabble
"Daddy!”
“Hey, Sonnyboy!”
Gus is taller than Brian expects. His arms reach further around his father’s neck than they used to do, and squeeze even more tightly, feeling like they will never let him go. Just the way Gus’ tiny hand felt clasping his finger on that very first night, taking Brian’s heart in an unbreakable grip.
Holding his son who is so ecstatic to see him, while Justin (the other one who owns his heart) radiates his Sunshine smile at both of them, Brian can almost believe that the feeling’s mutual.
He is deeply and profoundly grateful for that.

Date: 19/7/07 02:21 pm (UTC)Good Gravy I hate season 5 so bad Wren. I know I should be over it and one day I will but for some reason the injustice that is done to Brian in season 5 is sometimes hard to bare.
OY.
I hope your struggle with the writing demons isn't to long I am looking forward to to the next chapter of your story. BTW I think in the last month I have read The Experiment at least 7 times. I just love that story so much.
ps. About the drabble- fantastic, warm and sweet. Kinda like my grandma's cinnamon buns :)
