Cologne - quick update

wren_kt7ozRegistration for various reasons was total chaos.
It took hours. I was only about 20 back from the front of the queue and it took just on two hours before I had my pass.
Similar story at the pub tonight. Holders of the premium Loft tickets had to wait nearly two hours before we were allowed into the area that had been set aside for us. As it turned out, we would pretty much have been better off if we'd stayed out with "the peasants" because we could hardly see the stage from that area.
Oh, well ... never mind the glitches.
Everyone turned up and most stayed for quite a while. Well, except for one particular cast member who arrived clutching desperately at the hand of his girlfriend, sat in a corner for twenty minutes or so, and then left - still clinging to his female companion. I won't name names, but if I say I think I read somewhere that he's straight, I'm sure you'll know who I mean.
There was pandemonium of course, when they arrived. Absolute chaos.
I'd just gone to the bar to get a drink and was about to go back to my seat, when they walked in and I kind of got caught in the middle of it all, because as it turned out they wanted to sit them in the area we'd chosen.
Thea and Michelle were fairly upbeat, Peter was full of energy all night, bopping along with the music and generally having a great time and Scott got roped into assisting with one of the cabaret acts and was a very good sport about it. Harris looked a little overwhelmed, Bobby was great, introducing himself and shaking hands with as many people as he could and Sharon was very sweet - although to my eyes she looked kind of fragile.
Randy, who was the last to leave and was still there when we bailed, seemed to actually enjoy himself. There were a number of attractive gay men in the entourage detailed to look after them all and he spent a good bit of the night flirting quite happily with one or two of them.
He probably didn't enjoy the initial madness, but once things settled down and they sort of roped off an area for them where at least he didn't have people shoving cameras right in his face, he actually seemed to enjoy himself.
I strongly suspect that Gale might not have, however. Because if he'd been there the feeding frenzy would have been even worse, and I don't think it would have died down at all.
Anyway, it's kind of late and tomorrow is going to be a very long day, so that's all for now.

Bobby looks great, and so does Randy. And boy does Harris look all grown up and cute! I never cared for Hunter, but Harris works for me!

"So-called girlfriend" - I loved that one! Has Peter really gained a lot of weight? And Dear, Sweet Randy, who I thought would hate this, turns out to be "Last-man Standing". But, If he had his eye on someone - OH WOW - Wouldn't they be "Mr Fortunate"! LOL!

Date: 18/6/12 03:29 am (UTC)Yes, as you will have seen from the pix that are floating around everywhere, Randy's hair is pretty short again. He looks amazing. Definitely does not look 12 years older than when the show started.
Hal and his lady friend were joined at the hip for the entire conference, except when he was actually "on stage". I can't decide if that was sweet or annoying. *g*
Peter might have put on a little weight, but he looks good. And he was so much fun. Really, seriously, he was just wonderful.
As for Randy ... I don't think he was in serious pursuit of anyone, he just enjoyed flirting a little with a few different guys. It was kind of nice to see.
