Happy St Patrick's Day

Hi everyone

Just to let you know that I'm working on a short-ish one off to celebrate St Pat's Day (set in 1912 New York Brian is a young Irishman fresh off the boat where he gets work with a company called Taylor and Son).

But I'm not sure that I'll get it finished in time to post on the day, so rather than rush it, I'm giving you a heads up.

And a St Patrick's Day treat.

I had a great time.

It was a simply lovely day here - Melbourne is at its best at this time of year - around 24 degrees, clear and still and just a touch of crispness in the air to let you know autumn is moving in.

I got my housework out the way early, went to a St Pat's Day concert in the afternoon. Had an early dinner with friends (corned beef, what else? LOL) and shared a green beer or two, then came home and wrote for a while while I was listening to some Irish music. Not, I have to admit, exactly traditional folk *g*. It was an Irish jazz singer named Mary Coughlan - I love her voice, and seriously, you've never really heard "You Go to My Head" till you've heard it sung in an Irish accent. Which I'm guessing you'd know something about.

Oh, and I spent half an hour going through the different youtube versions of Rufus singing Macushla, which was very nice in itself.

Thank you. I'm still working through your comments. I will reply to them all, but it might take a while. Actually, they're wonderful, because they do get me thinking again about certain things and in that process new insights tend to open up which, after all this time, is a real blessing. :)
