Even the Leather Ball thing - where does Mel get off just barging into the loft in the middle of the night and overturning the arrangement for Gus's care that had been made between his two parents? She had no legal standing, or even a moral one, given that she'd stuffed up her relationship with Linds and left Brian to support both Lindsay and Gus. Brian should have just kicked her to the curb on the spot.
