3rd time lucky
4 Apr 2004 06:26 pmThought I'd try something - not sure if it will work.
Not sure if anyone's going to be even vaguely interested. If it does work, it's the timeline for the Experiment series.
For obvious reasons the dates that it's based on are very approximate, and there is at least one error - it wasn't until recently when I was rewatching 122 that I realised that the Prom was on a Friday night. Sorry about that but by the time I discovered it I was so far along that I couldn't change things.
The other thing is that I now believe that there were several days between Brian's birthday and the Prom. Again - too late.
As for whether the election took place in March or in November - not going there. For the purpose of this story, it took place in March.
So ... for those having trouble keeping the timeline straight (if you'll pardon that expression) ...

Date: 4/4/04 01:01 am (UTC)Ah! You know you're the only other person that I've come across who thinks so? For me, Brian' b'day was at the beginning of the episode. Everything the gang were saying to each other of that conference phone call pointed to it. But because Brian later decided to have this private celebration with the white scarf(and everything points to this having been a few days later), for some reason, most of the fandom decided that that was the night of Brian's b'day. ::is befuddled:: Hell, there are some that think that the night of Mikey's going away party, and the night of the prom is the same. How in hell they came to that conclusion is beyond me. They are obviously time-frame challenged.
BTW, the colored squares that you use for the weeks days in your chart, is it possible to have them a lighter color? Because of the black writing on dark colors, I have to hi-lite them to be able to read them.

Date: 5/4/04 02:35 pm (UTC)Yes, I'm constantly confused by that. I mean, the Friday thing I'd just forgotten, and with all that's going on in that episode, the hints that there are a few days between Brian's birthday and the Prom you could maybe miss.
But if you think about it, there has to be at least one day between. They wake him up with the cake. Then they're at Babylon - which is where Em gets the idea for the going away party. Then Justin is at school with Daph, talking about having asked Brian to go. Then they're at the party (well, not Brian, and we know what he was doing). Then Justin is getting ready for the Prom with Em helping him and Vic, Deb and the munchers all sitting downstairs.
Those three things - Babylon, the party and the Prom - surely have to happen on three different nights.
And the way Justin asks "Are you doing anything Friday night" (ie not 'tomorrow night'), makes it sound as if there are a few days in between Babylon and the Prom. I mean, he has the convo with Daph about going after that, and she needs at least a day or two to get a dress, surely. LOL.
But I somehow think that all this means that you and I have just watched this episode way too many times. LOLOL
PS - will try to fix the timeline on the weekend. That column originally had a light background and I gave it a dark one so it would show up on the homepage screen. Back to the drawing board.
