I have to admit that it takes me as long to write a drabble and polish it as it does to write two or three pages of a "normal" story.
I guess it's rather like writing poetry - you have so few words to play with you have to make sure that each one is just right.
But I actually enjoy them, I find them a slightly different challenge and they've proved, in the past, to be a really reliable way to "unstick" myself when my writing gets into the doldrums.
Glad you liked the "kiss" line - that phrase was about the only one that didn't get changed at some point. *g*
