Thank you.

When I first started reading this story I don't think I expected this.

That line made me stop and think and I realised that when I started writing this, I didn't expect Reverberations to evolve this way either. I originally thought it would be about five chapters and there were a few points that I specifically wanted to address - the competition was one thing, Justin leaving (especially the reasons behind that) was another. But I thought the issues for me were just about all centred around the bj relationship and how it was dealt with in canon. (There was one exception which I haven't got to yet in Reverb, but which will be coming up soon.)

As I worked on the story though, I kept coming across more and more things involving specifically Michael and Lindsay and their relationships to Brian that really really bugged me. And I realised that one of the main things that I hated in S5 was the way that both Michael and Lindsay really turned on Brian, and did and said absolutely hateful things with virtually no provocation (even at the infamous dinner party, Brian didn't really lash out until he'd been savaged by Mikey's little friends while his best friend cheered them on); and all the time, in virutally every instance, Justin seemed to either remain completely remote and removed from what was going on, or else he was aligned with them against Brian.

I hated that. In the end, that turned out to be the one inheritance from canon that I could not work with in Homecoming. It was the thing that I thought was most unfair to Justin. I could not in any way imagine how the Justin of earlier seasons - even early S3 - could or would stand by while Brian was treated so badly.

So the story has evolved in directions that were quite unexpected for me, from where I started.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying, and thanks for giving me food for thought, because a lot of this hadn't really occurred to me before in exactly this way.
