As for Michael ... I think the problem is that if QAF's "real life" had been guided by C/L, Mikey probably never would have grown up, because they seemed to think he was fine the way he was.
Their "everyman" comparison has always un-nerved me. Mind you, if Mikey is "everyman" it certainly explains why so much of the world is a mess. Men constantly impulse reacting to just about every situation out of petty selfishness and spite and having almost zero empathy for anyone else, let alone anyone outside their own little circle, only ever being prepared to give someone a hand if it suited their own agenda and being none too bright into the bargain, not to mention throwing tantrums every time they don't get their own way ... it would explain a lot.
(Personally, I've always thought, if anyone of the gang was "everyman" that it was Ted.)
